MADELEINE LAPIN

マドレーヌラパン キービジュアル

Japan’s first shop specialising in additive-free madeleines, born from the wishes of the mother.

Confectionery brand that combines passion for madeleines with the benefit of being additive-free.

The founder, a licensed chef and consultant, visited reputed madeleine shops throughout France and was fascinated by the old history of the confectionery and how much it is still loved today. The desire to feed children safe sweets led to a commitment to high-quality ingredients and a production method that was the first in Japan to include no additives at all. We cherished the wishes of our client, the founder, and created a single worldview that is like a story.

マドレーヌラパン ロゴ

Creating a logo that evokes the world of a long-loved confectionery product.

The name ‘Madeleine Lapin’ was the client’s idea for the shop, and she wanted the logo to be mainly based on Lapin (rabbit in French). Our design concept was classical and lovely, evoking the history of madeleines. We drew up the rabbit as if it had been written in etching and combined it with typography to create the logo.

マドレーヌラパン 店舗デザイン
マドレーヌラパン 店舗デザイン提案

Shop design that values what will work for decades to come as a brand.

Several shop designs were proposed, including a shop design with a natural feel with a focus on additive-free products, and also from the perspective of how the shop would look in the city, given its location in Jiyugaoka. During the dialogue, we narrowed down the concept to a natural design that cherishes the founder’s wishes, emphasises the brand’s relevance for decades to come, and creates a natural green shop design that accentuates the Madeleines.

マドレーヌラパン ギフトパッケージ

Gift packaging with the main logo representing the brand view.

The gift packaging, mainly featuring a logo with a story-like world view, combined with the client’s request for a damask pattern, was developed into wooden and cylindrical packaging, which are popular locally in France. We proposed several ideas to meet the cost challenge, along with the feel of the material.
